5th District’s – Read To Succeed Dictionary Project
Brothers:
As we ready ourselves to ascend/descend upon Chattanooga, TN for the 62nd Annual Fifth District Meeting during April 8-11, 2010, let us also ready ourselves to leave a lasting impact upon the children (our future) of Chattanooga as well.
Please join the 5th District Social Action Committee and the host chapter, Kappa Iota, in conducting a successful campaign of purchasing and delivering almost 800 dictionaries to the second graders in the city and surrounding areas of Chattanooga, TN.
Bro. Morant, our Fifth District Representative, realizes that all of our time and money is valuable to each brother in the 5th District. Through revelation knowledge and a keen insightful vision, he has concluded that we, the legendary brothers of the 5th District ought to leave each district meeting host city better than when we arrived. One way to accomplish this goal is to expand children’s vocabulary and hence their imagination with dictionaries. With a donation of only $30 (which includes taxes, shipping and handling), each chapter can purchase 24 dictionaries.
It takes about four weeks for these dictionaries to be processed and shipped. Thus, we are asking each chapter to order at least one package not later than Monday, March 8, 2010 in order for the packages to arrive in Chattanooga, TN prior to the first day of the district meeting on Thursday, April 8, 2010.
The web address for the dictionary project is: http://dictionaryproject.org/donations/. When placing your order, each chapter will need the following information: 1) $30, 2) check number, 3) checking account number and 4) bank routing numbers. This site is also designed to accept a debit or credit card, but I did not have any success in using them.
